Would a National Traffic Awareness Month campaign work in the UK?

National Traffic Awareness Month is taking place across the United States this August. It got us thinking... should the UK have something similar?

Road safety remains one of our biggest public and community safety challenges, yet awareness campaigns can sometimes feel fragmented or seasonal. Across the UK, there are some fantastic initiatives led by policing, local authorities, charities, National Highways and industry partners. But would a dedicated month of coordinated activity help raise the profile of road safety and bring even more people into the conversation?

Perhaps.

Equally, some might argue that focused campaigns targeting specific risks are more effective than a broad awareness month.

There's no right answer.

What is clear is that every day we see passionate people working incredibly hard to make our roads safer. The real challenge is how we maximise that collective impact and get road safety onto more agendas, in more organisations, and into more conversations.
